BIG JUSTICE IN A LITTLE CASE

A Cherokee County jury recently sided with one of our clients.  Sometimes the greatest satisfaction comes from the smaller cases we are called upon to handle.  In this case, our client asked his insurance company to pay for the damage to his truck which had been damaged.  The company refused to accept the estimates of value the client obtained from several truck dealers and instead offered much less.  When we could not get the insurance company to reconsider it’s position, we filed suit for the client and tried the case.  The result - a claim that the insurance company could have settled for $10,000.00 resulted in a jury verdict that will force the company to pay almost $30,000.00 including our client’s attorneys fees.  Not only that, but we will be picking a second jury to hear evidence on the unfair settlement practices used by this insurance company, and the jury in the second case may award additional damages of up to several hundred thousand dollars.
